ABOUT JOSHUA CATANIA: Author of How to Play Jazz Piano in 14 Days, How to Play Boogie-Woogie Piano in 14 Days, and Jazz Piano 365, among many others, Joshua Catania started playing the piano at age 5 and began writing his own music soon after. Influenced by his father, Joshua grew interested in boogie-woogie music and began improvising at an early age. Through his teenage years, Joshua kept busy performing in theaters, churches, boogie-woogie clubs, and orchestral halls around his home state of Wisconsin. While in high school, he released his debut album, Open to Now, to critical acclaim from USA Today, Something Else!, Midwest Record, and more.

Joshua decided to further his education at the University of Michigan, where he studied jazz piano with Juno Award-winning pianist Andy Milne. Alongside his studies, Joshua performed actively in the Detroit area jazz scene. While in college, Joshua also became interested in piano tuning and repair, studying independently with Robert Grijalva, professor of Piano Technology.
