ABOUT DAVE SCHOEPKE: Dave Schoepke hails from the Greater Milwaukee area. He has been a professional recording and touring musician for three decades, including treks across North America and Europe. His credits include Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre and songsmith Willy Porter. He has been a creative force in Willy’s band since 2002.
An active session musician with appearances on over 50 albums, Dave does remote recording from his home studio for artists worldwide. He appears on recordings with such diverse artists as Bryan Lee, Darrell Scott, Natalia Zukerman, Raining Jane, Billy Flynn, Doug Woolverton, Victor DeLorenzo, Michael Bettine, Russ Johnson, Todd Sickafoose, Brian Ritchie, Chuck Garrick, Allison Miller, Ray Bonneville, Paul Cebar, and Alan Thomson. Dave has also recorded over a dozen instructional CDs for print music publisher Hal Leonard, covering many genres.
His solo drums project has produced three all-drums albums and garnered acclaimed reviews from Modern Drummer, Recording Magazine, and numerous online music critics around the world. The 400th issue of Recording Magazine includes a multi-page feature on Dave’s process of writing and recording his album Drums on Low.
Dave has been teaching drums for over 30 years and has done numerous clinics with legendary artists Jeff Coffin, Ed Thigpen, Paul Wertico, Dom Famularo, Gregg Bissonette, and Carmine Appice. He maintains a busy schedule of teaching, touring, clinics, and sessions.
